Sébastien is a PhD student in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research lies at the intersection of urban and environmental economics. He uses big data and causal inference methods to address two of the most pressing challenges facing society today: climate change and housing. He evaluates the effectiveness, equity, and reach of climate adaptation strategies and investigates the causes and consequences of housing inequity, with a particular focus on racial disparities in housing access and affordability. His work aims to provide the insights necessary for evidence-based decision-making that supports both climate resilience and fair housing outcomes.
